Big Trees Coffee was started with a mission to save old growth forests through consciously grown & roasted coffee. Coffee is one of the crops that uses the highest concentration of pesticides globally.  

The chemical processing and pesticides used in unethically grown coffees, do not break down before being consumed.  Unethically grown coffees often contain mycotoxins, toxic compounds produced by mold, that over time also accumulate and affect our health.  

Improperly roasted coffee through fast, high heat “baking” exposure can create HCA’s and acrylamide that can damage the nervous system.  

We aim to build a platform for sustainability with donations to parklands, land purchases, and by providing carbon credits.  Our initial investment is in 48 acres of forestry managed woodland property outside of Washington, DC. We are working towards clearing out invasive species and planting native seedlings. 

We believe great coffee should do more than wake you up; it should inspire you to stand tall, move with a conscious purpose, and stay rooted in what matters most… our trees.
